Bongos Ikwue and his late wife Josephine

Afro-pop musician Bongus Ikwue has been receiving condolences from a cross section of Nigerians after he lost his wife Josephine Ifeyinwa Ikwue.
Ifeyinwa, 73, died of an undisclosed illness on Friday in Abuja. She hailed from the Ijeh Royal family in Issele –Uku Town in Delta, and has shared most of her life with Bongus Ikwue who ruled the 1970’s and 80’s with hits such as ‘Searching for true love, ‘Mariama’ and others.
In his condolence message President Muhammadu Buhari noted that her passing was a loss to humanity. He noted that Josephine regularly supported the poor and needy across the country, especially prisoners, whom she visited to pray with for God’s guidance, and also provided support for the people awaiting trial, and their families.
Since her passing, Christian women, musicians have been paying visit to the Ikwue home in Abuja to pay their condolences.
