Striker Pirre-Emerick Aubameyang has been linked severally with a move to Chelsea, and the Blues boss Thomas Tuchel further fueled the speculations by insisting he has a close bond with the Gabonese international.
Chelsea are said to be eyeing the player who moved from Bourussia Dortmund to Arsenal, before joining Barcelona last January. Tuchel coached Aubemeyang while he was at Dortmund.
“I experienced no issues with him,” said Tuchel on Friday.
“This is totally separate from anything that is happening now, but I enjoyed a lot working with Auba while I was at Dortmund,” added Tuchel, before his side’s home game with Tottenham on Sunday.
“Some players stay your players because you were very, very close and Auba is one of those players.
“There was always straight away this close bond. They always stay your players in a way.
“In Dortmund there was never an issue,” added Tuchel.
Aubameyang, 33, scored 11 times in 17 La Liga games last season after joining Barcelona.
