Falconents midfielder Esther Onyenezide, said the team will go all the way in their campaign at the FIFA U-20 Women World Cup in Costa Rica.
The player known as ‘OnyeZidane’ by her peers scored from outside the box with a beautiful strike that caught the entire South Korea defence napping in their second group C game on Sunday. It was perhaps one goal French legend and former Real Madrid coach Zinadine Zidane would want to have a second look at.
Speaking to BBC sports in Costa Rica ahead of their last group game against Canada on Thursday, Onyenezide said their win against France and Korea has given them more confidence to push ahead with the aim to win all their games
“We are a giant in Africa and fear no other team.
“We’ve trained an unbelievable amount and if you look back at qualifying, then we’ve every right to be confident out here whenever we play.
“We want to show the world that we’re not just big in African terms but that we can beat any other team.”
