Manchester United may clear out top striker Cristiano Ronaldo before the transfer window ends September 1. This is because his mood is creating concerns in the dressing room.
Though manager Erik ten Hag has made it known he has plans for the striker his disposition is something of a worry to top shots of the club. Ronaldo, 37, has it clear that he wants to leave.
The Portuguese has a year left on the contract he signed when he returned to the club from Juventus less than 12 months ago. but wants United to let him leave this summer.
While successive Premier League defeats to Brighton and Brentford have clearly shaken United badly, part of the overall picture has been put down to Ronaldo. He hardly communicates with his team-mates and was quick to sulk at every opportunity.
Chelsea ended their interest in the player last month, while he has also been linked with Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.
Atletico fans have urged their club not to get involved in discussions around signing Ronaldo.
