Nigerian up and coming midfielder, Raphael Onyedika has made his feelings known to Danish Club Midtylland about his preference to join AC Milan.
The Italian Serie A 21/22 champions had tabled $4.05m for the player, but Midtjylland refused to trade, saying they needed Onyedika who went through their academy for one more season.
However, according to Danish sports journalist Jorn Just Kristensen, Onyedika has now made it clear that he wants to join Milan.
“There is no doubt that the player wants to go to Milan. Kjaer, who is considered a Midtjylland legend, could be the factor that will tip the scales in Milan’s favour. Onyedika’s final valuation is around €6-7m, decisions on him will be made independently of the coach because there is a strong club behind him.”
“We are talking about a guy with great potential who is very powerful, and is growing year after year. Already in the UEFA Youth League with the U19 team of Midtjylland he showed his potential,” he said about the player’s potentials.
“In the 2020-21 season he was loaned out and improved a lot, he was elected young player of the year after his performance in the season that has just ended. He moves best as a defensive midfielder. But with his physical overwhelming power he is also able to disrupt the opposing defensive lines. He can therefore also move as a midfielder, his main feature is the explosiveness of his legs.
“At 21 he is a star in Midtjylland. At Milan he could currently be a good reserve and grow from a tactical point of view , or he could do a season in a smaller team, he certainly wouldn’t go to Milan to be a star.”
Meanwhile Milan has placed Bordeaux midfielder Jean Onana on standby in case they cannot land Onyedika.
