There was uproar Monday morning at the Kuje Correctional Centre following the death of an inmate who was sick and needed medical attention.
According to reports, the medical aid did not come and the man died. Enraged by the inaction of the Kuje Correctional centre, other inmates launched a protest, and the situation was brought under control by the warders.
“The guy has been sick for weeks now, but the situation deteriorated last night and the wardens refused to attend to him until he gave up the ghost around 6:28 am this morning,” Sahara Reporters quoted a prison official.
