Nigeria Football Federation presidential aspirant, Ahmed Shuaibu Garra Gombe has urged outgoing NFF president Amaju Pinnick to be less visible and audible as he prepares his handover notes.
Garra Gombe was speaking against the background of Mr. Pinnick’s threats to hand a life ban to whoever drags football matters before the courts, as the count-down to the NFF elections continue.
Pinnick, while speaking on Arise TV said it was unbecoming of Nigeria football stakeholders to head to the courts at the slightest provocation. But Garra Gombe, a former adviser on sports to the Kano State government said it was an unnecessary outburst from a man who should bury his head in sand like an Ostrich.
“It was the dubious entrance of Mr. Pinnick into the NFF that brought most of the litigations we witnessed in the football federation.
“He doesn’t have the power to unilaterally ban anyone from football for life and also prevent whoever was banned from getting a visa to travel like he threatened to do.
“Pinnick has caused enough damage to our football. During his tenure over N60b couldn’t be accounted for, he should just go home and enjoy his loot as we rally round to save Nigeria football again.”
