Napoli’s top striker Victor Osimhen will be fit for tonight’s Champions League tie against former champions Liverpool at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
On Monday it was revealed that the Super Eagles star is a major doubt for the game after he picked up an injury during Napoli’s Serie A game against Lazio last weekend. He did not train the team on Tuesday, but he was seen this morning working out with the rest of the squad.
Napoli are hoping for a bright start to their campaign. Having Osimhen back is a major boost and they are banking on their fans to cheer for victory.
The Napoli fans had taken offence after a tweet by Liverpool warning their fans not to venture out of the hotels saying Napoli was a dangerous city.
But on arrival Tuesday, Liverpool were greeted with a charm offensive from the locals, including Napoli laying on a special lunch for the directors and UEFA delegates.
The entire Liverpool squad including coach Jurgen Klopp wandered out of their hotel for a walk along the seafront with the Bay of Naples laid out before them, greeted enthusiastically by locals.
