Former Liverpool legendary player Graeme Souness says Nottingham Forest could be facing relegation battle despite spending big during the summer window.
Super Eagles players Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis are among 21 other players bought by the club in deals worth £150million, but so far Forest are finding life difficult in the Premier League, which they were promoted after 20 years in the Championship.
“The biggest part of Steve Cooper’s job this year is keeping their heads up,” Souness told Sky Sports. “Nearly every weekend last year they won a game.
“It was a happy place to be. When you get promoted, generally it’s a very different job description for the manager and coaching staff about keeping their chins up because they’ll lose a lot of games in this league.
“So I know how hard it is. I think it’s very difficult to integrate all the new players. But you have to do it. He’ll be feeling he has to improve on the quality they’ve got.”
