Ajax FC coach Alfred Schreuder said he has studied Manchester United’s coach Erik ten Hag’s notes on how to beat Liverpool.
Basking on their 4-0 thrashing of Rangers in their Champions League opener last week, Ajax want to compound issues for Jurgen Klopp and his men at Anfield on Tuesday night and according to Schreuder he has watched United beat Liverpool.
“I have looked at the United match and what they did,” Schreuder said.
“There are certain things they did that are applicable to us.
“You have to be good with the ball against these kinds of teams.
“You need to have guts and courage. Courage is key. If you have that, then you have a chance.”
Speaking on Calvin Bassey’s fitness for Wednesday’s encounter he said: “Bassey is not so bad. It was a kick in the calf, so that’s not too bad,” Schreuder said as quoted by Ajax Showtime.
“He [Bassey] said it’s no problem and would be ready to play.”
The Reds lost their first game to Napoli and according to coach Klopp, his team needs to get over the hangover and get their UCL campaign back on track.
