Real Sociedad are bemoaning the injury that befell their new star striker Umar Sadiq. He has been ruled for the rest of the 2022/23 season.
The Super Eagles striker was an instant hit at the Spanish La Liga side, but he will undergo surgery in the next few days to repair a damage cruciate ligament. He suffered the knee injury during Sunday’s La Liga match against Gatafe.
Sadiq was a deadline day buy for Real Sociedad and he warmed his way into the hearts of the fans after scoring for the club in their 1-1 draw against Real Madrid, but his second game for Sociedad last only 38 minutes.
The former Flying Eagles star who is Sociedad highest signing is estimated to be out of first team action for around nine months with light training expected to start from the beginning of 2023.
