Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said it is investigating a team of its officials who were filmed violating traffic rules on Friday.
This is coming on the heels of the outrage that greeted the auctioning of vehicles seized by the Lagos State Task Force for driving ‘one way’ and violating other traffic rules. A vexed citizen had posted on Twitter the LASTMA team violating the same traffic rules.
Lagos State Police Command PRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, reacting to the tweet said: “I have contacted LASTMA authorities and the head of the Police unit with LASTMA.
“I can confirm that an internal investigation has begun. This will not be swept under the carpet. We appreciate citizen reportage.
“I just got confirmation that the entire team has been identified and summoned to @followlastma headquarters. Updates will follow.”
