Super Eagles and the Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could recover in time to face Ajax Amsterdam in their Champions League tie on October 4.
Osimhen picked up a muscle injury in their 4-1 win over Liverpool in the first game of group A earlier this month. An injury, which ruled him out of the Algeria vs Nigeria international friendly on September 24.
Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti would be hoping that his star striker stays injury free as they push to win the Serie A title and go far in the Champions League. So far Osimhen has scored two league goals and one assist from five games for Napoli who are topping the table and also the group A log sheet.
Last season Osimhen’s season was plagued by injuries and covid 19 postive testing, but he scored nine goals in all competitions.
