Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi said Friday’s warm up game against the Algeria B team was a good test for the national team and also as they take on the Desert Foxes on Tuesday, he is optimistic, the Eagles won’t slip up.
Iwobi, leveled up for the Super Eagles after Maduka Okoye made a mess of a shot and allowed Karim Aribi to sneak the ball into the net for Algeria’s B first goal. Cyriel Dessers scored the second goal for the Super Eagles, before Algeria’ Aymen Mahious, equalised from the spot.
“It was a good test and on Tuesday we will go again,” Iwobi said on his twitter handle,
Also commenting was Godwin Saviour who made his debut for the Super Eagles.
”It was really amazing for me to play my first game for the Super Eagles. I feel really excited. We had a test game this is good for everyone to get to know each other and get ourselves better,” Saviour
“It was really an amazing outing for me and collectively as a team I feel this is a very good test game for us.
“The coach said every game is like a World Cup final. We have to win every game, we have to have the mentality of winning. We have to have the ambition to win so that is what we went into the pitch with which is the mindset of winning.“
