Nigerian universities must resume immediately, the Federal government has ordered the vice-chancellors of all the federal universities.
In a letter sent to the vice-chancellors through the National Universities Commission, the government instructed that students should resume lectures.
“Ensure that ASUU members immediately resume/commence lectures; Restore the daily activities and routines of the various University campuses”, said the letter signed by the NUC Director, Finance and Accounts, Sam Onazi.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has been on strike for seven months, but last Wednesday the Federal government obtained judgement in a suit it filed against ASUU at the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.
However, ASUU president, Emmanuel Osodeke hinted that the union would file an appeal, challenge the judgement of the NICN determination of the substantive suit before the court.
