The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu left Lagos at the weekend for medical checks in London.
It was gathered that Tinubu left with his running mate Kassim Shettima with a few days to the start of the presidential elections campaign.
“Our principal, Tinubu is sick and tired. He is expected to see his doctors in London today (Monday) at a Central London Clinic,” SaharaReporters quoted a source in the Tinubu circle.
“He left Nigeria 12 midnight on Saturday. He ought to have launched the Presidential Campaign Council today but it was postponed till Wednesday for President Muhammadu Buhari to return from the US. However, it has now been postponed indefinitely.”
However, Bayo Onanugu who is director of media and publicity for Tinubu campaign group said. “He only took a week break for vacation.
“Although the campaign will flag off on October 8, we will kick off the stipulated September 28 date with a prayer in all the APC branches nationwide.
“After committing the day to God, we will embark on road work in Abuja. However, I am sure the policy document will be ready before October 2.”
