Film maker Kunle Afolayan, revealed that he is not disturbed by the rejection of his work “Anikulapo” by the Oscar selection committee.
The movie which sees a stranger fall in love with one of the kings wives and get sentenced to death when the affiar was discovered was among two other films viewed by the Oscar selection commitee. All three films were not recommed for the Oscars, the commitee noted that they were “non-eligiable.”
“I am so pleased and delighted that the whole world has decided to tag Anikulapo film a masterpiece even though the Nigerian selection committee thinks it’s not worth submitting to the Oscars,”Afoloyan wrote on his Instagram page.
“Will keep making and doing my thing.”
Veteran movie maker Tunde Kelani rated Anikulapo: “Anikulapo is not just any other movie but one that will leave a lasting impression on its audience.”
