The Japanese female national football team Thursday morning defeated their Nigerian counterpart, Super Falcons, 2-0 at the Noevir Stadium in Kobe.
The game was dominated by the Nadeshiko in the first 45 Minutes of the game, but Super Falcons goalie Chiamaka Nnadozie made a number of good saves to deny Nadeshiko as both sides were tied to a draw in the first half of the game.
Two second-half goals from Mi Tanaka handed Japan a comfortable victory over the 11 times African champions after the game.
Sugita wins a free kick at the edge of the box which was floated in by Noamoto right foot to pick out Mi tanaka who converted it from close range to establish a 1-0 for Japan
And in the 68th minute Mi Takana got her second goal and she converted calmly from a penalty spot, after Ohale brought down Sugita inside the box who was through on goal.
Efforts by the Nigerian team led by Rasheedat Ajibade to turn around the tie before it ended proved abortive with the Japanese tidying up their defense to prevent any goal.
The Super falcons are now winless in their last five games. The Falcons had also lost two back-to-back friendly matches against the Nadeshiko in 2013 before Thursday’s meeting.
While coach Randy Waldrum will be displeased with the losses to the United States and Japan, the American coach has vowed to focus on getting the team ready for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup
