Former Minister of Aviation Stella Adaeze Oduah returned to court Wednesday in the continuation of the money laundering charges brought against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The case had been stalled, hindering efforts to arraign Mrs. Odua, a serving Senator. But the EFCC brought a letter from the Attorney General of the Federation, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, authorising Mrs. Odua to be formally arraigned. She was in Court with her fellow defendants and Justice Inyang Edem of the Federal High Court fixed February 2023 for the arraignment and accelerated trial.
Mrs Oduah in the charges brought against her, was alleged to have misappropriated the sum of N7.9 billion public funds during her tenure as a Minister under former President Goodluck Jonathan’s regime.
Her co-defendants include Gloria Odita, Nwosu Emmanuel Nnamdi, Chukwuma Irene Chinyere, Global Offshore, and Marine Limited, Tip Top Global Resources Limited, Crystal Television Limited and Sobora International Limited.
