Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho said playing at Old Trafford Thursday against Manchester United in the Europa League, was like a dream come true for him.
Uzoho was arguably man of the match as he churned out 12 spectacular saves for his club Omonia Nicosia. Scott McTominay’s injury-time winner gave United a vital win in Group E, but it wasn’t without struggle.
Uzoho was making his first start this season for the Cyprus club side due to injury to first choice keeper Fabiano. Uzoho kept Cristiano Ronaldo, Casemiro and Marcus Rashford at bay in the first half, with the latter registering a whopping 10 shots. He said it was his best performance of his career and was happy doing it at Old Trafford.
“I am not disappointed because we had a good game.
“I would’ve preferred to get at least a point, but I’m happy because it’s not an easy stadium to play in with these big players. I’m happy in general!”
It’s a dream come true for me. I have dreamed of playing here for a long time.
“When I saw the draw and figured I would be playing at Old Trafford, I wanted to play and I prayed to God to get an opportunity to play. I got it and I’m happy I played here.”
