Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi wants a pause to all political campaigns so that attention could be focused on helping flood victims.
Obi who was speaking Wednesday in Abuja said people are suffering in the flood ravaged areas and they need help. He called on his opponents in the 2023 presidential elections, Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress and Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party to pause for now and join efforts to help the victims.
“Flood is ravaging the entire country, people are dying, people are displaced, I told my people no more campaigns till we visit sites and see the victims,” said Obi.
“I equally call on other presidential aspirants to stop for now. If we can spend millions to buy forms to run for office, we should also visit the victims of floods to give them comfort.”
