After the spectacular win against Liverpool Nottingham Forest coach Steve Cooper said his side must build on the result and win their next game against Arsenal.
Taiwo Awoniyi’s second half goal gave Forest a much needed win at the City Ground to give them a temporary home of escaping relegation. Cooper hopes his team can take confidence from a hugely encouraging performance when they visit the Emirates Stadium.
“In terms of the result, it’s a positive result that we needed, because of the run we’ve been on. But also, it’s a really positive result and win because of the history and nostalgia around the game.
“It is something we can build on in our next game.” Cooper said.
Speaking in the game Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp submitted that he cannot explain why his side lost the match.
“[It feels] As low as possible. Massive, massive blow because I have no idea how we can lose this game to be honest. Not that we played exceptionally well, not that I expect that but it would have been nice.
‘With all the changes we had to make and with the intense week behind us it was clear we had to make a fight of it. The boys did that. The chances they had were pretty much counter attacks where we gave the ball too easily away”
