The Police in Ebonyi State said its men have arrested two Indegenous People of Biafra ‘commanders’ after a shoot-out in Omege near Opeke River in the Agba Community.
According to Ebonyi Police Command spokesman SP Chris Anyanwu the police acting on intelligence had swooped on the IPOB camps and there was an exchange of gunfire, after which the police superior firepower prevailed. He said Nnamdi Ngwuata Obaji a.k.a Commander No. 3 and Felix Ogudu were arrested and arms recovered.
“One of the Leaders of the organization popularly known as SARS COMMANDER with dread-locks on his head, said to be an indigene of Cross River State is on-the-run and is declared wanted.
“He and members of the outlawed IPOB/ESN are responsible for the attack on Police Stations, home town of former Chairman Ikwo of Ikwo LGA. The gang is also highly suspected to have partaken as a criminal participe in the attack of the Provost of Federal College of Education, Isu Onicha along Agba axis a few days ago,” he said.
