Arsenal levelled Nottingham Forest with a 5-0 thrashing at the Emirates Stadium, but what was more of concern to manager Mikel Arteta was Bukayo Saka who picked up an injury that may mar his appearance at the 2022 World Cup.
After setting up Gabriel Martinelli for the first goal in five minutes, Saka was off the game in just 27th minute after being kicked in the ankle, but Arteta said it was not that serious, adding that he is sure Saka would be fit for Qatar 2022.
“Hopefully It was a bad kick.
“Right from the beginning he was limping, but I don’t see any further than that. Let’s see how he is in the next couple of days.
“I think both [foot and ankle]. He got kicked a few times and he wasn’t comfortable.”
Arsenal returned to the Premier League top spot after their dismal performance against PSV midweek in the Europa League by thumping relegation battling Nottingham Forest.
