First Bank Basketball Club are set to dominate the Sam Oguche Bullet Energy Basketball Championship, which started off Tuesday at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere Lagos.
The Elephant Girls started their campaign on a good note, as they beat Ogun State War Queens 31-15 and according to a First Bank Basketball club official, the Elephant girls are motivated to continue in their winning streak in the Nigeria women basketball contest. In July the Elephant Girls won the maiden DK Olukoya Basketball Championship.
Ten clubs in the men and women category are vying for the honours at the Championships that will herald the Nigeria Basketball Federation 2022 Final-8 play-offs.
According to Samuel Oguche, a former guard with the Lagos Islanders, the choice of date and venue of the NBBF Playoffs is surely a blessing to the competition.
“Some of the teams in the NBBF playoffs are also listed for the Bullet Energy competition. And so we have a situation where the teams would train hard, play to win the cup and then move in straight to the continent ticket challenge.
