Things took a tragic twist at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre when a drunken corporal Abayomi Ebun, crushed to death Brig. General Audu Ogbole James who is the director of finance at the NAFRC.
According to reports corporal Ebun was driving recklessly in the barracks at Oshodi Lagos when he hit Brig. General James from behind. A source at the NAFRC Barracks disclosed that Ebun was drunk at the time the incident occurred. The General was walking to his house within the barracks when he was struck.
He was rushed to the medical centre for first aid, but the doctors confirmed him dead.
Corporal Ebun, according to the sources, “has been detained by the NAFRC provost for further investigation.”
James until his death was the Monitor General SEC 40 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Plateau State.
According to the information regarding the tragedy as provided by the Welfare Officer of SEC 40, ACM Kayode Olagunju, James died from injuries sustained from the accident.
Olagunju wrote, “Sad News. We lost a gem. Our indefatigable, humble, friendly bridge builder, the Monitor General SEC 40 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Brig Gen Audu Ogbole James, just departed.
