Tammy Abraham could return to England next summer as he is considering leaving AS Roma at the end of the season.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Aston Villa are among the ‘admirers’ for Roma striker Abraham, who has struggled for goals this season.
The 25-year-old has netted just three times in 15 games this term, but did enjoy a stellar first campaign under Jose Mourinho. Last season, Abraham scored 27 goals across all competitions for the Italian giants as they finished sixth in Serie A and won the Europa Conference League.
His poor start to this campaign has led to some criticism, not least from his manager Mourinho. When asked if the striker needed a fresh source of motivation after missing out on the England World Cup squad, the former Chelsea and Tottenham boss didn’t hold back in his thoughts.
“I am old-fashioned, but I think that when you become a professional football player in a universe where millions and millions of children dream of doing this, you don’t need the support of anyone,” Mourinho said earlier this season.
“You don’t need an external source of motivation. What is this? An external source. A coach, a psychologist. Why?
“You have to give your all every day on the pitch, in every training session, in every match. Play badly, play well, make mistakes, but the attitude is something separate from that.”
