Fresh from his exploit at the Warri Effurun Peace Marathon, runner Emmanuel Gyan says his target is to win the gold in the 10,000m and the marathon events of the National Sports Festival.
Gyan was a surprise winner at the WEPM, where he showed that he is in good form. He beat race favorite Ishmael Sadjo to second place in Warri.
He said: “I’m here to run in the 10’000m and marathon and my aim is to win. That’s what I’ve been training for.
“In the marathon we are going 42km, Im sure to dominate it and win the gold.
“But in 10, 000m it is going to be a real fight between me and Sadjo, this ruling out the others.”
He added that gunning for a double would be like a routine task.
“It’s not going to be an exerting task since in training we can do 100km.
“In competition we can do no more than 90km,”
