After breathing the air of freedom Saturday, Aminu Mohammed, has apologised to Aisha Buhari over a tweet which so offended the wife of the President Muhammadu Buhari, she mobilised security services and judiciary to dish out punishment for the final year student of the Federal University, Dutse. The first lady was reportedly alleged to have participated in the initial torturing of Mohammed when he was first arrested. Daily Nigerian reported that Mrs. Buhari while attempting to kick the student, slipped and fractured her leg. Mohammed was arraigned before a High Court in Abuja for defamation, he was refused bail, but following a public outcry the first lady withdrew the case on Friday. Mohammed returned to Twitter Sunday and he wrote:” I would also like to use this medium to express my heartfelt gratitude toward those that helped me go through the darkest hours of my life, man cannot escape his destiny but my incident should serve as a lesson to all of us. Thank you all and one love.” I would like to use this medium to express my sincere apologies to those I’ve hurt, especially our mother, Aisha Buhari. It was never my intention to hurt your feelings and Insha Allah I will change for the better. However, I’m also grateful for your forgiveness, thank you mama.”
It has been suggested that Mohammed can sue the first lady for violation of his human rights and also that of another lady Zainab Kassim, a former social media aide to the first lady who was also detained.
