Morocco’s Atlas Lions roared into the quarter final of the World Cup after beating Spain on Penalty shootout.
Full time scores over 120 minutes failed to produce goals for both sides.
Spain missed a last minute goal that could have doomed the Moroccans, but Pablo Sarabia’s tight angle shot glazed the bar.
And in the shootout, Spain were awful with their kicks, Sarabia who had scored five penalties in previous games missed the first shot for Spain, while left back Achraf Hakimi twisted in the knife with a penenka after Hakim Zeych made no mistake from the spot.
Morocco’s other hero was keeper Bono who saved all Spain’s three shots.
Morocco has now joined Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana as the African nations that have reaches the quarter final of the FIFA World Cup.
