Oloso of Oso, Oba Clement Jimoh Olukotun paid N10m to the kidnappers who held him captive for a week before he was set free. The 66-year-old Oba Olukotun was seized by the kidnappers at his residence at about 10.00pm in Ajowa- Akoko, Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State. The hoodlums gained entrance into the home by smashing the main door with several gunshots. The kidnappers had asked for N100m to set him free, but the family was able to raise N10m, which was paid to the kidnappers who then dropped off the Monarch between Kabba and Lokoja, of Kogi State, around 10p.m. Wednesday. “Kabiyesi has been released. He was released Wednesday night,” said a family source “That was the exact time the family was contacted all the way from Kogi State, where he was dropped between Kabba and Lokoja. “The abductors collected the sum of N10m ransom raised by the government, fellow monarchs, chiefs of our town and our successful children who are based abroad. Our Kabiyesi is in the hospital in Lokoja, where he is being treated because he has become weary and needed medical treatment to regain strength. “He will soon reunite with his family in Oso-Ajowa by the grace of God.”
