Nigerian Afro pop singer Paul Okoye and his wife Anita have been granted divorce by an Abuja High court sitting in Maitama. Paul, the other half of the P.Square has been for long separated from Anita. In court papers filed by Anita, she claimed that Paul has been an absentee father and has also been unfaithful in the marriage. She demanded a $20,000 monthly payment and some of her husband’s property. Anita also claimed in the suit that she contributed N10 million as an agreement with her husband that she would be granted space at the mall he had just completed in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. However, she accused Paul Okoye of cheating her out of a deal.
The court, after listening to both arguments, granted Anita’s request for divorce and approved joint custody of their children.
