France top striker Kylian Mbappe has put the pain of missing out the World Cup trophy behind by resuming training with his club Paris St Germain Wednesday. This is just as Club mate Lionel Messi and his Argentina colleagues are still celebrating their World Cup success back at home and also mocking Mbappe, the man who almost ruined Messi’s title dream in Qatar. Mbappe scored a hat-trick that pushed the game into penalty shoot-out, but Emiliano Martinez proved to be the saving hope for the Argentines after Messi and Mbappe had given it their best shots during regular time.
France looked dead on their feet and short of ideas until Mbappe took the chance to inspire them in the dressing room at the interval with a war cry that evidently struck a chord. He is pictured in a dressing room rant during half time: “We can’t do worse. We come back on the pitch, we must pull it off. We conceded 2 goals, we can come back. F*** guys, this is once every 4 years, f***!” The French team were also given a hero’s welcome. They were greeted by thousands at Place de la Concorde. Mbappe was not due back until the following week, as PSG prepare for the return of Ligue 1 against Strasbourg next weekend. Keen to put the World Cup disappointment behind him, Mbappe perhaps wanted to distract himself with work. Initially at least, he will be doing solely gym and recovery work after an intense month in Qatar.
