A divorce seeking middle aged woman, Mrs Olawumi Olasemo has urged a Mapo Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Ibadan to annul her marriage to Wale Olasemo for attempting to use their children for money ritual. Mrs. Olasemo told the court that she is now afraid for her life and that of her children after her husband made moves to use the children for rituals. She added that there was no love in the family and more. “When I took note of Olasemo’s desperate attempt to use our two children for money rituals, he became unhappy,” she said. “He beats me. I parted ways with Olasemo about eight years ago and he has since remarried. Mr. Olasemo was not present in court even as he was duly served with originating summons as well as notice of court hearing.
The marriage was dissolved after the court’s president, Mrs S.M. Akintayo examined all the documents and evidence tendered by the petitioner. She awarded custody of the children to the petitioner and ordered Mr. Olasemo to pay N20, 000 a month for their upkeep. The court also imposed a restraining order on Olasemo.
