Leeds United could make a shock move for ex-Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino. The Yorkshire giants parted with Jesse Marsch after a dismal run of results left them hovering over the relegation zone. However, even before the American’s departure, Pochettino was believed to be on a potential shortlist to replace the former RB Leipzig manager.
And Pochettino’s appointment could possibly strike all of the right chords due to his admiration with fellow countryman and Leeds’ legend Marcelo Bielsa. “I already faced him in Spain,” Pochettino once said, when asked about the Argentine in 2020. “It’s a pleasure to see him, to greet him, and to play against his teams is always a beautiful challenge. “For me, he’s a person I will always admire. People call him ‘El Loco Bielsa’, but for me, he is not crazy at all. “For me, he’s a genius. A person with charisma and a personality very different from us normal coaches, and that’s what makes him special.”
