Enyimba of Aba coach George Finidi is hopeful that his side will continue their winning streak when they play Bendel Insurance this weekend in Benin City. The top of the group A table clash is getting fans of both clubs excited as it could very well determine the final outcome of the contest. Bendel Insurance lead the log with 20 points, while Enyimba is at 16, a win will see them narrow the gap, while a win for Insurance will see them go seven points clear. Enyimba won away to Gombe United 1-2 last weekend and put the icing on the cake with a 2-0 win over visiting Shooting Stars midweek. On the other hand, Insurance drew 2-2 with Shooting Stars in Ibadan and got a slim 1-0 win over Nasarawa United midweek. “Enyimba is coming around, we have been solid at the back, you have to be solid at the back if you want to go far,” said the former Nigerian international. “We haven’t only been solid at the back, but the entire team is getting it right. The players are getting what we’ve been telling them all season. The belief is there; we believe in what we are trying to do and the result is there to show.”
He tipped top striker Emeka Obioma to score more goals and end the season as the highest scorer. His brace against Shooting Stars the third brought his total to seven so far in the season. “He almost got a hat-trick against Shooting stars. He is in great form, his attitude is perfect. “We will keep pushing him to get the best out of him.”
