Coach Luciano Spalletti could leave Napoli at the end of the season as tension begins to grow between him and club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Reports in Italy say the two men are not on talking terms and Spalletti has made up his mind to leave. Antonio Conte and Rafa Benitez are among the coaches that have been pencilled down as possible replacements for Spalletti who guided Napoli to their first Serie A win in 33 years.

Spalletti, who has a year left on his current deal with Napoli was angry the club offered him a contract extension without being told in person. De Laurentiis also failed to call Spalletti to congratulate him after Napoli won the Serie A title in May, a detail which hasn’t been overlooked according to Il Corriere.

The coach was not present for a press conference on Thursday, instead replaced by goalkeeper Alex Meret, as ADL announced further plans for Napoli’s title celebrations and their upcoming pre-season camp. The President did not mention Spalletti’s name once.
