The Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan to be played at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, on Saturday June 10 will be officiated by Szymon Marciniak who was at the centre during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
This would be his first Champion League final since being a fourth official in the 2018 final. Man City can count on him for fair officiating; the Polish referee was in charge of their semi-final victory over Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium.
The 42-year old Marciniak received praise for his handling of Argentina’s clash with France in Qatar with many pundits highlighting his previous spell as an amateur footballer as key to his officiating approach.
UEFA have named his fellow Poles Pawel Sokolnicki and Tomasz Listkiewicz as assistant referees with Tomasz Kwiatkowski handing the reins to VAR in Istanbul.
