Controversial rapper Naira Marley must offset all the outstanding royalties he owed late Mohbad, said his management team, which also called on the police to carry out a detailed investigation of the rapper’s death at 27, last Tuesday.
This is just as Naira Marley spoke for the first time to address speculations he might have caused the death of Mohbad.
“We appreciate the outpouring of love from the general public following the passing of Mohbad,” Mohbad’s team wrote on their X handle.
“The circumstances surrounding his death are truly painful and we are open to provide any cooperation necessary to the authorities to carry out any investigations.
“Right now we are focused on making sure the Legacy of Mohbad lives on and he is remembered as he was in his final months; free strong and fighting for a future. Before his passing, Mohbad was in court to retrieve the majority of his songs and unpaid royalties which were wrongfully held by Marlian Music.
“We will continue to fight to retrieve his catalogue and unpaid royalties so that through these, those he left behind, especially his son; Liam Imole, will be provided for.
“We want #JusticeforMohbad, and Ww will appreciate all the support we can get in this fight to retrieve his catalogue from Marlain Music, as this is the justice that Mohbad was working towards.”
Speaking on the controversy surround Mohbad’s death Naira Marley spoke late Friday on his Instagram handle urging fans to examine the last days of the Mohbad.
“Hey guys I’ve been shattered, don’t even know what to type since, I’ve been so hurt walahi, But guys let’s do this for Mohbad. I know the internet can.”
“Where did he go? Who took him there? Who are the people he was with? Who was he last seen with?
“What was the nurse treating? Who is the nurse? Why was there no autopsy? Where did the nurse treat him? Who took him to the nurse?
“Why was he buried so quick in that manner? Who’s the guy in the car with his lifeless body? Who paid instablog to say ear infection first?”
However, Nollywood actress Tonto Dike in response to Naira Marley’s post said: “Is Naira Marley playing with us? What the fuck is that letter you posted? Who are you asking questions? Where is Larry Sam you sent to frustrate Mohbad with a cutlass (and people were thinking it’s a cane…Look well)? I will suggest You better SHUT UP (you look prettier with your mouth closed anyway) and keep dancing on Snapchat while we seek justice.”
