Delta State governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has mandated the Local Organising Committee of the 7th edition of the National Youth Games to deliver he best ever organised Games, to give the visiting delegations a memorable sporting experience.
It is the first NYG that would be hosted by Delta State, which is regarded as the home of Sports in Nigeria having dominated the games since its inception.
Athletes and officials are already headed to Asaba for the NYG, which begins September 20 and run till September 30 for the event billed to hold at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium, which is wearing a new look.
From the gate to the main bowl and other competition centres for the event, the facility, which hosted the 2022 National Sports Festival is ready to stage all the contests. Meanwhile veteran coach Seigha Porbeni hinted that Delta was not likely to relinquish its number position in the NYG. He said the Delta athletes are prepared adding that new talents would be on parade.
