Mainland Metro News | Shots fired as Obaseki, Shaibu fued escalates | All the news you need...

The feud between Edo State governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shiabu, took a new dimension as supports of both men took laws into their hands and engaged in a fisticuffs at the Government House Monday.
Trouble started when the deputy governor tried to gain access to his office at the Government House which has been under lock and key, since he was relocated to another office a stone throw from the Government House.
“The deputy governor was here this morning (Monday) the gate leading to his office was locked and there was no one to open it for him. I think his office has also been shut because of the new office he was told to move to outside the government house.
“He waited for almost 30 minutes before he left. I don’t know if he had gone to his new office but he was not allowed to move into the one in the government house.”
But before he left there was a fight between his loyalists and those of Obaseki and this led to security agents firing in the air to scare away the agitators. It seems all had return to normal after Comrade Shaibu withdrew a case he filed against governor Obaseki to block any impeachment move against him.
Both are standing each side of a line that has been drawn since Shaibu made his intention to contest for the governorship position in the next Edo elections known to the public.
