Embattled rapper Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley and his associate Samson Eletu a.k.a Sam Larry, have been granted bail by a Lagos magistrate court.
The duo were ordered to provide three sureties each with N20m bail bond, they are also to surrender their international passports and make weekly report to the State Criminal Investigation Department. They are expected back in court on November 21.
Naira Marley and Sam Larry were detained by the Police for questioning in connection to the sudden death of Irelioluwa Aloba a.k.a Mohbad on Septemer 11. Mohbad was signed to Marlian Records, but he fell out with Naira Marley along the line.
Naira Marley and Sam Larry denied having a hand in his death against the backlash of allegations and insinuations on social media. Preliminary reports by the police based on the autopsy analysis of Mohbad’s remains indicated that he died from a combination of medications administered on him by an unqualified Nurse after he had taken ill.
Based on the findings Naira Marley and his associate questioned their prolong detained after the initial 21 days ordered by the Magistrate court had lapsed. They have now filed a N40m suit at the Igbosere Division of the Lagos High Court against the police for a breach of their fundamental human rights.
