Edo State governor Godwin Obaseki who was looking forward to having Divine Ikubor a.k.a Rema perform in Benin City before Christmas, has sent a get well wish to the Afrobeats star who pulled out all engagements for the rest of the year.
The ‘Calm Down’ crooner announced Wednesday that he was tired out from all the touring around the world following the phenomenal successes of his hit song Calm Down, which went number 1 in almost all continents.
Obaseki wanted a homecoming concert to welcome the illustrious son of Benin, but Rema said he was too tired to give any show.
Governor Obaseki wrote on his X page: ” “My Rema @heisrema, your remarkable achievements over the years fill us with immense pride and joy.
“From the extraordinary feat of selling out the O2 Arena to amassing an impressive 1.6 billion streams of music, your accomplishments show your exceptional talent. They pave the way for countless young creatives, offering them a glimpse of what’s possible.
“We are extremely proud of you and remain behind you every step of the way.
“Wish you a speedy recovery, young champion.”
