Napoli are not in a rush to have Victor Osimhen sign his contract extension till 2026 as talks are moving at snail speed.
Besides, the reigning Serie A champions are ready to swoop on Victor Boniface, if any of the clubs vying for Osimhen’s signature meets the 140m euros price tag.
Speaking on the Osimhen contract situation, Napoli sporting director Mauro Meluso said: “We are used to working under the radar, it is a prerogative of this company.
“It will be up to president De Laurentiis to break the news, it has been a long negotiation, we hope to conclude it.
“Announcements are made when things are done. There is a will on the part of both parties to close this negotiation, we will see in the coming weeks”.
According to reports in Italy, Napoli have made signing Boniface a priority if they lose Osimhen in January or I’m the summer.
Boniface has taken the Bundesliga by storm in his first season with Bayer Leverkusen. He has scored 15 goals in 22 games across all competitions.
