Nollywood actor and movie director, Azeez Ijaduade is battling for his life after being strucked by a projectile fired by a policeman in Iperu Ogun State.
The Ogun State police claimed that it was bullet shell that hit Ijaduade on the neck and not the bullet itself.
Fellow actor Abiodun Adebanjo, had posted the incident on his Instagram handle @iamabiodunadebanjo: “Please, we need help in Iperu. My director, Azeez Ijaduade, @kingzeez1, was shot by a Nigeria Police personnel.
“He is presently at Babcock University Teaching Hospital. Anybody with the contacts of the Police IG or Commissioner should reach out.”
Reacting to the shooting Ogun police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said in a statement.
“During the Bramaj Company end-of-year party in a hotel, a mobile policeman attached to the Chinese expatriate expended a shot into the air, and unfortunately, the ammunition shell hit one Azeez Ijaduade “m “ an actor, on the neck.
“He was rushed to hospital in Ilishan and he is in a very stable condition,” she said.
Odutola, however, added that the officer had been arrested, and an investigation commenced into the incident.
