Nigeria Football Federation said it has no hand in the launch of a new jersey design for the Super Eagles ahead of the 2024 African Cup of Nations.
This is coming against the background of a viral unveiling of the Nike jersey on Thursday and widely reported by various media.
But according to a statement Friday the NFF distance itself from the launch of the jersey saying it has not authorised any change in uniform for the Super Eagles.
“Rumours about a new jersey launch between NIKE and the senior Men’s National team circulating on social media have been brought to our notice. We want to inform the general public that this claim is not true. At the moment, we have no jersey being launched for the Super Eagles for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to be held in Cote’D’Ivoire next month,” the statement read.
Meanwhile the Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro, is expected to announce his final squad in the coming days.
Super Eagles’ group opponents, Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau have released their final squad for the competition with only Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea yet to release theirs.
