Nigeria Communications Commission has put subscribers of Globacom on notice of a possible disconnection from MTN within the next 10 days, if Glo fails to pay its debt to MTN.
The NCC said Glo has failed to pay interconnect charges to MTN and this could lead to subscribers of Glo being unable to make calls to MTN subscribers.
“Globacom was notified of the application made by MTN and was given the opportunity to comment and state its case” said NCC public affairs director Reuben Muoka.
“The Commission, having examined the application and circumstances surrounding the indebtedness, determined that Globacom does not have sufficient or justifiable reason for non-payment of the interconnect charges.
“subscribers of Globacom will no longer be able to make calls to MTN but will be able to receive calls.”
“The partial disconnection, however, will allow in-bound calls to the Globacom network.”
