Despite the national team’s unconvincing performances in recent times, Super Eagles Supporters Club president, Vincent Okumagba is optimistic the Jose Peseiro led squad can play and win the final game of the African Cup of Nations starting Saturday in Cote d’Ivoire.
Okumagba disclosed Wednesday members of his club will be drumming support for the team on Sunday when they clash with Equatorial Guinea. Cote d’Ivoire will face Guinea-Bissau in the opening match Saturday in the other group A pairing.
“We have always backed them to reach the final and get the trophy but have been disappointed so except for 2013,” said Prince Okumagba.
“However, I believe they have what it takes to make it this time taking into account we have the best African player in our team. Not only that, other players are also well experienced.
“They will lack no moral support in cote d’Ivoire as many of the Super Eagles supporters club members would be there to cheer them to victory.
“We are going with luxurious buses for the first match and few would go by air.”
Meanwhile the Super Eagles have arrived in Cote d’Ivoire after a stopover in Lagos from their training base in the United Emirate.
