A 32-year- old banker has committed suicide blaming hard luck and bad economy for her shocking action, which occurred inside the toilet of a commercial bank in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.
The lady indentified as Amarachi Ugochukwu of Globus Bank was reported to have drank pesticide to terminate her own life.
Ugochukwu took a break from her desk at about 1pm Monday January 8 and locked herself in the rest room.
After a while her mobile phone ringing unanswered drew the attention of her prolonged absence to her colleagues.
They launched a search for her only to discovered that she locked herself in the restroom.
When the door was forced opened, she was found unresponsive and was later confirmed dead at the Ikorodu general hospital.
The police was notified of the development and they confirm she died by suicide.
“A suicide note and a bottle of pesticide was found by her side,” said a police source.
The suicide note read:
“Nothing is working in my life. My figures are low. My brain is clogged up. “The economy is getting harder. My decisions are wrong. My mind is messed up. The future doesn’t seem bright at all. I see extreme hardship. I can’t bear the pain anymore.
“I’m sorry mum, I’m sorry dad, I’m sorry Nene, Okwe, Toto, Nazor, Chuchu, Ifunanya.
“Dear Lord, have mercy on me!”
