Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu told the Super Eagles on their way to the African Cup of Nations, “nor dey gree for anybody.”
But now the Nigeria Police Force, has warned that slogan trending on social media since the beginning of 2014, is actually a call for revolution by Nigerian youths in the days ahead.
NPF spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that intelligence reports indicated that the slogan is call to arms by youths to plunge the nation into crisis even as people see it as harmless.
“The new slogan for 2024 for young people is ‘nor dey gree for anybody’,” Adejobi said.
“We have been informed from our intelligence that this is coming from the retributionary sector that might likely cause problems across the country.
“Nor dey gree for anybody is being seen as just normal talk. In the security community, we have seen it as a very dangerous slogan that can trigger crises.”
